231,000 boost for major regional arts project ‘In Country’

The Turnbull Government will provide $231,000 for a project to promote arts and cultural engagement in regional Australia called In Country.

In Country will be a practical resource for those working in regional Australia and will include guidelines, case studies, brochures, videos and web content to help arts organisations, including regional organisations, reach a broader audience and promote regional tours.

This project will support arts and cultural practitioners to establish successful partnerships with regional communities to deliver arts projects and increase regional Australia's access to arts activities.

The In Country toolkit will also provide insight into and build a greater understanding of the drivers and challenges for the arts in regional Australia.

This project is funded through the Regional Arts Fund. Each year the Australian Government provides approximately $3.4 million through the Regional Arts Fund for sustainable cultural development in regional and remote communities. This includes support for arts projects and community-building initiatives.
