The Australian Government has appointed Mrs Penny Fowler to the Board of the National Portrait Gallery of Australia for a term of three years.
The National Portrait Gallery Board is responsible for the performance of the gallery and its role in developing, promoting and providing access to a national collection of portraits that reflect Australia's identity and history.
Mrs Fowler will bring to the Board valuable governance and business skills.
Mrs Fowler is Director of the Australian Ballet, Chair of The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Member of The Royal Botanic Gardens Board Victoria, Member of the Monash Industry Council of Advisers and former Chair of the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park. She is also Chair of the Herald and Weekly Times.
Mrs Fowler holds a Bachelor of Business degree and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
