Support to showcase Australian gaming internationally

The Turnbull Government is pleased to provide support to showcase the Australian games industry at the 2018 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco on 19 March.

The GDC is the world’s largest professional games industry event with more than 26,000 attendees each year.

The Game Developers’ Association of Australia (GDAA) will receive $17,000 to present the Australian Showcase at the annual conference.

The Showcase provides global exposure for Australia’s digital gaming and virtual reality products and promotes emerging talent to an international audience.

Representatives from leading organisations such as Google, Xbox, PlayStation and Sony will have the opportunity to experience Australia’s unique voice and innovation through the Showcase.

Australia’s game development industry has established an international reputation for being inventive, creative and ground-breaking through events such as the GDC. The Government is committed to growing Australia’s international presence and reputation as a leading creative exporter.

The Showcase will highlight Australia’s talent and provide networking opportunities with international producers, publishers and investors.
